Robert Escalante
$Robert Escalante and the soft-spoken boss of the road.
Once designated as The Golden City by its civic leaders, Santa Ana was among the first municipalities to be incorporated as part of California’s sunny Orange County, back in 1886. Located just 10 miles from the Pacific Coast, it is a place of many historic landmarks for both visitors and local residents to enjoy.

Hi Robert
As you know, I am currently writing the sequel to Packard 1948 To 1950. This one picks up at 1951 and carrys the history through 1954. As such, it also has a custom chapter. I am currently shasing the Derhams and Dietrichs. I need VIN and firewall numbers of all currently known cars to see if we can pin dow possible production dates and perhaps blocks of cars.
Mike Harrah said you could provide that information on his 1951. I would appreciate it, as will, I am sure, future Packard historians. In case you did not record the firewall number of the car, a photo of the firewall area on the passenger side during restoration should show it. Just attach such a picture to an email to me and that should do it.
Derham did a number of Packards between 1951 and 1954 but not many 1951 models. I am currently only aware of two 1951 survivors. If you know of any I would appreciate it. Considering your extensive contacts in the world of classic Packards, you may have come across another one or two.
Best regards,
Robert Neal
